The Reconstructionist Havurah of Cleveland

A Torah Table Cover

We aren't silversmiths, so we can't make a breastplate or rimonin (finials) to adorn the Sefer Torah. We do not have our own place of worship, so making a curtain for the Ark is not feasible.

But when the Scrolls are open and being read, let's have them rest on a beautiful cover for the table, a cover lovingly made by Havurah families.

Creating one of these squares requires no specials skills or tools. School age children can help, too.

You can follow this design or create your own for one of the holidays. Look at our page of instructions.

We will list Havurah "squaremakers" on this Web site and show the square they contributed to this community project.
