Shabbaton FAQ
What's the theme of this Shabbaton?
Chazak, Chazak, v’Nitchazek חֲזַק חֲזַק וְנִתְּחַזֵּק
Be strong, be strong and let us strengthen one another!
This phrase that we say when we conclude each book of the
Torah highlights the relationship between strength and
interconnectedness. We will spend the Shabbaton weekend
exploring the ways that each of us possesses sometimes
unrecognized wells of inner strength which we can use to
strengthen and help others, and accept support and
encouragement from others in turn.
Where will the Shabbaton be held?
The Shabbaton will take place at the beautiful Lodge at
Geneva- on-the-Lake on the shore of Lake Erie. The address
is 4888 N Broadway, Geneva-On-The-Lake, OH 44041.
It is about an hour drive from the eastern suburbs (Ratner School).
How can I attend services during the Shabbaton?
All services will be held on Zoom as well as in person. Anyone
from the community is welcome to attend services in person
free of charge. If you do plan to be at Geneva for services, please
let Robyn know to ensure that we have enough seating.
What are our food options?
There will be 5 meals served during our visit and included
for those who register to stay the whole weekend at the hotel.
(There will also be as snacks available in our hospitality suite).
Those coming for a partial stay should register for meals ala carte
(see prices on registration form). Recognizing that our comfort
levels with communal dining will vary, there will be an option to take
food “to go” and picnic tables available just outside of our dining
room, as well the option to eat in your room or other personal space.
What will the COVID policy be?
We will be following our current pandemic policy and ask that all
comply with the Community Brit. As Covid is an evolving situation,
we will continue to seek advice from the Pandemic Advisory
Committee and follow any policy that the Board passes.
